Sound sculpture and installation from the group exhibition Making Sense in Ásmundarsalur, Reykjavík, Iceland. 09.03 - 07.04.2024
As a response to the church bell of Hallgrímskirkja striking a new hour, the pipes play a meditative drone until the bells ring again for the half hour. Resulting in a 30 minute collaborative composition with psychoacoustic tonality which changes as you move within the space, creating acoustic beatings.
This repeats itself every hour, creating a ongoing conversation between the church bells and pipes. Giving attention to the everyday sonic landscape that we often don't notice as it blends into the city ambience.
